Grade 9 math tests postponed by Bluewater school board
The Bluewater District School board has joined several others across the province in postponing the upcoming standardized tests for Grade 9 math.
Minister of Education Stephen Lecce has announced that boards would be able to make their own decisions about whether or not to proceed with the EQAO tests scheduled to begin next week.
The Bluewater board has decided that due to the ongoing labour action involving public high school teachers, they'll postpone the tests until June.
The board says they will continue to keep parents informed as new updates regarding provincial labour negotiations become available.
Meanwhile the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association is meeting with provincial negotiators Thursday and Friday but say if no progress is made they will begin a work to rule campaign on Monday, January 13th.
