Man arrested in Port Elgin convenience store break in
On August 12th around 2:20am, Saugeen Shores Police commenced an investigation into break and enter at convenience store in Port Elgin.
The store was closed when a man forced his way in but was confronted by an employee who was still finishing up for the day.
A brief struggle ensued resulting in the employee being assaulted before the suspect took off.
Police released an image of the suspect lifted from video surveillance footage and released it to the media.
It then circulated on social media.
Soon after the media release a male attended the station to surrender to officers in relation to this occurrence.
A Bruce County man has been charged with:
1. Break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence
The male was released on a undertaking with a court date.
