Update on changes made to accommodate 10th St bridge construction
Detour signs are now up around the 10th Street bridge and will stay up for at least 15 months.
There has already been a few tweaks made to previous changes announced by the city.
Effective immediately, the 9th Street West and 1st Avenue West intersection will return to a 4 way stop.
City officials had announced, and taken down the stop signs at the 9th St bridge going east/west to improve traffic flow.
As of late Wednesday afternoon, those stop signs were back up.
The following changes have also been made to the parking in the downtown area.
The following on-street parking will be removed to accommodate the detour traffic plan:
" 1st Avenue East in the 900 Block on the east side
" 3rd Avenue East in the 800 Block on the east side
" 3rd Avenue East in the 900 Block on both sides
" 8th Street East 100 Block on both sides
" 8th Street East in the 200 Block on the south side
" 9th Street East in the 100 Block on the north side
" 9th Street East in the 200 Block on the north side
" 9th Street West in the 100 Block on the south side
Additional parking has been created:
" Along 10th Street in the 200 Block
" Municipal Parking Lot 6 just west of the Farmers' Market which will be accessible upon completion of the work along 1st Avenue East
Additional parking removed outside of the downtown to accommodate any overflow of traffic include:
" 8th Street West in the 200 Block on the south side
" 9th street West in the 200 Block on the north side
" 3rd Avenue West in the 800 and 900 Block on the west side
Parking will continue to be free for 2 hours along City streets and 5 hours in Municipal Parking lots.
