West Grey man charged in connection with incident in Mount Forest
A West Grey man is facing almost a dozen charges after an incident last week in Mount Forest.
On March 6 at approximately 7 am Wellington County OPP responded to a 911 call at a residence located on Main Street South in the Township of Wellington North.
It was reported that an unwanted party entered the residence armed with an electronic stun gun and a baseball bat and assaulted the victim.
The accused also stole a quantity of money from the victim before being apprehended by police.
The accused and the victim were known to each other.
Police searched the accused incident to arrest and located a quantity of codeine and counterfeit money.
Further investigation revealed that the accused was breaching the conditions of a Recognizance and an Undertaking.
As a result, a 44-year-old male of West Grey Township has been charged with:
- Break and Enter into a Dwelling and Commit Indictable Offence
- Possession of Prohibited Weapon
- Possession of Prohibited Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Assault with a Weapon
- Possession of Counterfeit Money
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking
- Fail to Comply with Recognizance
- Robbery with Violence
- Theft Under $5000
- Possession of Schedule 1 Drug - Codeine
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
