Young driver stopped in Meaford facing a number of charges
On March 2 at around 9:30 am Grey Bruce OPP stopped a pick-up truck on Collingwood Street West in Meaford after spotting an expired validation sticker.
The driver failed to produce a proper Ontario driver's licence and valid insurance for the vehicle he was operating.
Grey Bruce OPP have charged the driver of the truck, a 17 year old from Meaford, with the following offences,
- Class G1 licence holder - unaccompanied by qualified driver, section 340/94 5(1) Highway Traffic Act (HTA) Regulations
- Drive motor vehicle with no currently validated permit, section 7(1)(a) HTA
- Operate a motor vehicle without insurance, section 2(1)(a) Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
- The accused was issued 3 provincial offence summons and is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound.
