SPOON SIMON & RAITT: Teaming Up for Austin
Britt Daniel from Spoon, Gary Clark Junior, Willie Nelson, Black Pumas and Jimmie Vaughan are among the Austin, Texas natives teaming up for their hometown. A Night for Austin is set for Wednesday, at 9p.m. at ANightForAustin.com. Proceeds from the two-hour streaming concert will go to the Austin Community Foundation. The event was organized by Willie Nelson, Paul Simon and his wife, Texas native Edie Brickell.
Sturgill Simpson will play a live-streamed concert from an empty Ryman Auditorium in Nashville tonight at 8p.m. on his YouTube and Twitch channels. He's also selling a poster and shirt for the show to raise money for the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund and Equity Alliance Nashville Tornado Relief.

Michael Kiwanuka took to Twitter to declare his pride in being black. The son of Ugandan parents captioned his statement, "We Matter!" In the statement, he details the psychological damage he and other black people have suffered because "we so often hear that we are lesser because we are black." After stating that he is "so proud to be black," he catalogs some of the positive assets of black people and then pledges to "do more to lift up my people.”
