ADOPTED! HTZ Houndz: Adoptable Dog of the Week - Kaia

Hey HTZ Listener's, it's Jonathon with our first adoptable HTZ Hound! Kaia is a very sweet girl who is currently spending her time being boarded at Martindale Kennels & Grooming in St. Catharines. My girlfriend, Kyra and I paid a little visit to Kaia a few weeks ago. When the volunteer from Niagara Dog Rescue brought Kaia out, we were greeted warmly. She was probably just excited to be out for an adventure.

Immediately, I could tell this 2 year old sweetheart has plenty of love to give. I was impressed by how well she walked on leash,  even when Kyra took the leash, Kaia was content to keep trucking along. She listens to commands well, and was attentive to us.

She reminds me so much of a little fox, since she's on the smaller side at only 24 pounds. She's a little lovebug with plenty of playful energy; it shocks me that she is still waiting for her forever home!

As I mentioned in my previous blog post (which you can see here), seperation anxiety can be a real challenge, and sweet Kaia is not an exception. She would do best in a home where her companions are around as much as possible. Those companions must also be of the human kind only. Kaia is not dog friendly. However, she does get along great with kids. So if you're recently retired, or finding yourself alone at home alot, Kaia just may be the company you need.

I'm honestly shocked Kaia still hasn't found her forever home, but I'm optimistic a HTZ listener out there will be her perfect match! At the end of our walk together, she buried her head in both my lap and Kyra's, looking for love and pets. This girl is really something special and has plenty of love to give. I urge you to read more about her here:

And if you are looking for a dog but Kaia isn't quite the right fit, you can see all of Niagara Dog Rescue's good boys and girls here

Lastly, if adoption isn't right for you right now, Niagara Dog Rescue is always looking for fosters and volunteers to be apart of their Dog Socialization program. Even if you can only come once or twice a month, the dogs will be so happy that you did. Niagara Dog Rescue is also in need of dog crates which can be donated at Martindale Kennels and Grooming. Be sure to keep up with them on Facebook and Instagram and remember "No one can do everything, but everyone can do something!"
