Okay so I have a confession. I, Jonathon, have never seen a Star Wars movie. But I do know there was a character named Lando, who went through quite a bit of growth over the course of the Star Wars Saga. So to me, it seems that Lando is a very appropriate name for this week’s HTZ Hound.

Lando is a 1 year old shepherd mix who weighs about 45 lbs. Lando will do best in a home with no kids, as he is still growing up and learning how to be a confident dog. He is good with other dogs, but would need to be fed separately as he has shown signs of food aggression. Lando is working on his crate and house training while in boarding, but will need an experienced owner to continue to work with him.

Lando would love to go to an active home where he can get out with his owner and burn off energy through like activities like hiking or running which will also help him bond with his owner. He is available through Niagara Dog Rescue and is currently fostered in St. Catharines with Martindale Kennels, where he has been working with trainer Renee. With treadmill training and socialization, Lando has begun to improve his fearful behavior. Watch Renee explain who will make a great owner for Lando below:
