HTZ Houndz: Adoptable Dog of the Week - Rover
Hey HTZ Nation, sometimes Niagara Dog Rescue sends me a dog who I know will have a tougher time finding a home, which makes me really happy to have this platform to get more eyes and ears pointed in their direction. And sometimes, I get a dog who I expect to be adopted within a matter days if not weeks. Rover is one of those dogs.
Rover is a 2 year old German Shepherd/Aussie mix, two awesome and very trainable breeds. He is 73 pounds and has all the amazing black/blue and tan colouring of your typical Aussie. He also has plenty of energy and will make a great running or hiking buddy.
Rover is dog friendly and great with all adults and kids over 16. His size and excitability makes him a bit overwhelming for younger kids. Rover also needs a home with no cats. Whoever adopts Rover will need to go to training to work on his jumping and mouthing, but this will only help you bond more with your new best friend. The biggest thing Rover needs is a backyard and plenty of exercise to curb his destructive behaviour inside the house. If you would like to read Rover's bio in full, click here.
