The Canoe4COVID crew continues to rack up donations for Food Banks Canada, now surpassing $80,000.

On July 6, six friends who met in Algonquin Park set out on canoes to paddle and portage more than 2,000 kilometres in 60 days in a mission they called 'Canoe4Covid.' On Aug. 21, the group reached Pembroke and by Aug. 24, their journey was complete.

To finish off their trip, the team portaged their canoes to Parliament Hill with $72,000 raised.

Now, the group had surpassed $80,000, surpassing their original goal $60,000. Donations are still coming in.

"Your generosity truly inspired and motivated us every paddle along the way," a statement said on their website.
