United Way KFL&A campaign to kick off September 11th

United-Way

United Way KFL&A has announced the launch of their 2020 campaign, which will look a little different this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Though the launch will not include the traditional breakfast, it will include video messages from the Town Crier, agency speakers and more, the organization wrote in a statement. It says the 2020 campaign cabinet has been hard at work to make this year's kick-off memorable and inspiring.

Every year, thousands of volunteers come together to raise funds for services that help their families, friends and neighbours. Last year, United Way KFL&A invested in 71 programs at 42 agencies that helped over 59,000 people in the community.

"This year, these efforts are more important than ever to make sure that immediate needs are being met and that the most vulnerable members of our community are being taken care of during the COVID-19 pandemic," the statement says.

This year's campaign goal will be announced at 8 a.m. on Sept. 11 on the United Way KFL&A's Facebook page and website.
