A Kingston woman faces assault and mischief charges after an incident at the Kingston General Hospital Tuesday night that saw a stairwell filled with water and an officer assaulted.

Kingston Police said a woman was brought to the hospital by paramedics on Tuesday evening where she became difficult to deal with, according to police, before she left the treatment area.

The woman then allegedly found a fire hose hookeup in a stairway of the hospital and opened the water main, which allowed the stairway to fill with water and prompted a call to police.

Police said the woman was arrested just after 11:30 p.m., where officers allege she kicked an officer and caused damage to a police cruiser that left in inoperable.

The 33-year-old is charged with assault of a peace officer, assault with intent to resist arrest and two counts mischief under $5000.
