John Legend Clarifies His Kanye West Comments

John Legend has clarified his recent comments about not being close friends with Kanye West. In an interview with Vanity Fair, when asked about the Jesus Is King rapper, “I’m not trying to disown Kanye because I still love him and love everything we’ve done together creatively. But we were never the closest of friends.”

The singer took to Twitter to clarify his statements, saying, “I get why people want to make this a thing. But I was explaining to the reporter how I’ve seen people I love reacting to the deaths of their mothers. I was thinking specifically of my own mom, Chrissy’s mom and others.”

He continued: “Then she asked me if I was referring to Kanye as well after Dr West died. And I told her I wasn’t really in a position to say because while Kanye have a long friendship and have a made a lot of great music, we weren’t close on the level of confiding in each other about grief.”

In other news, a source says that despite Kanye's recent transition into religion, he and wife Kim Kardashian are stronger than ever. According to People, a source said, “Kim and Kanye are in such a great place right now. Kim doesn’t want to change Kanye. She loves him and supports him.”

The source continued, “Of course, there are going to be times when Kanye says something Kim didn’t know he was going to say, but in general they talk about everything and are usually on the same page."
