PITBULL POSTPONES LOS ANGELES SHOW, STAYS IN FLORIDA DUE TO HURRICAN DORIAN: Pitbull postponed his scheduled show at the Los Angeles County Fair on Sunday because he didn’t want to travel from his home state of Florida to California with Hurricane Dorian on the way. “Due to Hurricane Dorian’s fast changing weather conditions approaching South Florida and the Eastern Seaboard tonight’s concert @lacountyfair has been postponed until September 12th. We’re sorry to disappoint fans, but are excited to hit the stage on the new rescheduled date,” Pitbull tweeted. A statement from Pitbull’s management ssaid “the artist cannot safely depart from Miami.” “Pitbull, a resident of Miami, has chosen to stay and tend to the safety of his family.”
DIPLO CLAIMS POPEYES SENT HIM CHICKEN SANDWICHES ON A PRIVATE JET: Producer and DJ Diplo is claiming that Popeyes sent him a whole slew of its supposedly “sold-out” sandwiches in a private jet. The Instagram post showed Diplo standing at the door of a private jet bearing the Popeyes logo holding two bags apparently full of the popular sandwiches. The photo was captioned, “Popeye’s heard I wanted to try their sandwich so they sent me some in a jet.... Wendy’s your move.” Popeyes said the demand for the new creation has exceeded expectations so greatly since its August 12th nationwide launch that it’s sold out of the inventory that had been expected to last through the end of September.
STAR-STUDDED AVICII TRIBUTE CONCERT PLANNED IN STOCKHOLM: Adam Lambert, Rita Ora, Aloe Blacc and David Guetta are among the artists booked for the Avicii Tribute Concert for Mental Health Awareness on December 5th in Stockholm. Also expected to take part in the event are Alex Ebert, Audra Mae, Joe Janiak and Blondfire. Most of the artists on the bill were former collaborators of the late disc jockey and recording artist Avicii. Produced by the Tim Bergling Foundation, the show will raise money for organizations that address mental health needs and support suicide prevention. Avicii – whose real name was Tim Bergling – died of an apparent suicide in April 2018 at the age of 28. “He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life and Happiness,” his family said in statement at the time. “He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace.”
ALESSIA CARA RELEASES NEW SONG ‘OCTOBER’ FROM UPCOMING EP: Alessia Cara has released a new song titled “October” from her forthcoming EP, The Summer. The Summer, which will also include the singer’s single “Ready,” is set for release on Friday. The singer also discussed the meaning behind “October” on Instagram. “I wrote this song about a very recent period of time in which I felt more aligned than I ever have. It’s about healing and discovering that some feelings are as beautiful as they are inevitably fleeting,” she said.
