Tool has mapped out a major North American tour in support of its long-awaited new album, Fear Inoculum. The six-week run kicks off at Sacramento’s Aftershock Festival on October 13th, encompassing another 24 dates before wrapping on November 25th in Washington, DC. Killing Joke will be along as support. Tickets go on sale September 6th via Ticketmaster.

The band will no doubt bring an elaborate production on the road, with drummer Danny Carey telling us a while back that Tool is always looking to up its game: ["We're gonna keep expounding upon the visual parts of the show, I'm sure, doing different things, you know. We have a whole team of people that we are constantly working with, trying to come up with better and bigger things and, you know, just ways to reinforce the songs, you know, ways to reinforce the music and all the art that we come up with."] SOUNDCUE (:18 OC: . . . come up with.)

Fear Inoculum, Tool’s first new album in 13 years, was officially released on Friday, and by all accounts, it was well worth the wait. Revolver proclaimed it "a masterpiece to be dissected for years to come," while NME called it a "blissful work" and Spin declared that the 85-minute LP was "a transcendent return."
