The City of Penticton has continued its commitment to accessibility with recent upgrades in equipment to the two accessible change rooms at the Community Centre.

Both accessible change rooms are now equipped with new hoists including updated features such as increased battery life, recharging 50 per cent faster, secure sling attachments and lifting capacity up to 200kg/440pds.

“We strive to ensure everyone has access to recreation opportunities regardless of ability,” says Recreation Operations Supervisor, Kerry Wagner. “It is especially important that the therapeutic effects of the water are available to those who can benefit from them the most.”

Residents that want to learn more about accessible recreation are encouraged to go to City of Penticton website, visit the Penticton Community Centre or read the Accessible Recreation page in the biannual recreation guide found on the City’s website or in hard copy.
