Kelowna Councillor Sieben Says E-Scooters Not Viable Transport Option
Kelowna council has postponed making a decision on e-scooter regulations, asking staff to come back with another report.
“When they’re used on roadways they have the ability to be a viable transportation option," Councillor Sieben said. "When they're restricted to a waterfront corridor like they are currently right now, and/or Bernard Ave, I don't think they are. And if anything it takes away from people's enjoyment on the waterfront. Love it or leave it, people are more accustomed to bikes.”
Sieben said on AM 1150’s Early Edition he thinks council will be looking more at bikeshare and rentals when the report comes back.
