Majoros Pond Park Closing Temporarily for Flood Repairs

City of West Kelowna

The City will be closing Majorios Pond Park for approximately three weeks beginning October 9 to repair damaged caused during 2018 flooding.

The City will be excavating flood material deposited in the three ponds in the park, located at 3645 Carrington Road. To do this, the ponds must first be de-watered with Westbank Creek and Smith Creek being diverted around the work zone. The ponds and the channels connecting them will be rebuilt and vegetation replanted.

Construction is expected to be finished and the park re-opened by October 31.
