Put those winter tires on

Time to put those winter tires on.

October 1st marks the change for BC Highways and on most roads winter tires or chains are now mandatory.

ICBC says even if you're feeling confident on the roads always take caution and check Drive BC for road conditions before heading out.

Police can fine drivers for not having winter tires and may even send you back the way you came.

Although ICBC says it doesn't void your insurance if you don't have winter tires in an accident, but it could impact whether - and how much - you are at fault.
