Penticton man charged in vehicle theft
Officers in Penticton successfully arrest man for several offences.
On January 2nd, 2020, at 3:30 p.m., officers with Penticton’s “Street Enforcement Unit” (SEU) along with the “Targeted Enforcement Unit” (TEU), located vehicle stolen recently from Osoyoos, parked near Lakeside Road. Officers observed a man enter the vehicle and drive it a short distance, before officers identified themselves to him.
The driver took off on foot through a neighbourhood near Lakeside Road, and was chased by officers. The man punched and kicked at officers, who were eventually able to safely take him into custody.
35-year-old Daniel Quinn of Penticton has been charged with possessing stolen property, possessing a controlled substance, failing to comply with his probation order, prohibited driving, assaulting and obstructing a peace officer.
“Both of these teams effectively demonstrated the Penticton South Okanagan Similkameen Regional Detachment’s commitment to crime reduction and prevention,” said Constable James Grandy.
