Parents not allowed to watch

Several changes for those participating in Kelowna Minor Hockey this winter.

"We are also not allowed to have any parents watch the games. From that standpoint, it is probably the biggest adjustment for families not having mom and dad or their grandparents inside the arena."

Director of Hockey Development, Quintin Laing, says coaches are also required to wear facemasks.

"It is a little tougher trying to communicate with the players. You have to do your best. As for rules on the ice, there is absolutely no spitting on the bench."

Players are also not allowed inside the arena 15 minutes before game time. That means many are dressing at home or gearing up in the parking lot.
