The West Kelowna Warriors are taking full advantage of an extended training camp.

Head Coach Simon Ferguson is watching close to 30 players practice at Royal LePage Place.

"Most of the guys have been doing it (following provincial mandated COVID-19 prodigal) all summer now. We have our social distancing play and skills work, so you miss some things for sure but the guys are used to it".

Joining Ferguson in the evaluation process is former NHL player Josh Gorges.

"He is going to be out at practice with us and most home games. He was doing a little bit with us behind the scenes (last year). He worked with me in the major midget program as well, so we are happy to make it official this year and he is going to be around quite often."

Gorges was named the Warriors director of player personnel in late August.
