2,000 cell phone customers were without service for almost 2 days.
Telus Spokesperson, Liz Sauve says their cell site in Lumby began experiencing issues and they sent a technician with a back-up generator Tuesday. Customers told us service was back about 3pm Tuesday afternoon.
Sauve says they will investigate what caused the disruption in the first place
Telus says starting yesterday, their cell site in Lumby began experiencing issues and as a result, cell service to customers in the immediate area has been disrupted.
Spokesperson, Liz Sauve says, “A technician is currently on route with a back-up generator and we anticipate service will be restored to all customers early this evening. Our first priority is to restore service, and then we will investigate what caused the disruption in the first place.”
She says they want to thank their customers for their patience. She says the company understands how much customers rely on wireless services, and they want them to know their priority is to fully restore their service as soon as possible.
Sauve did not provide a specific timeline.
