City Building: Gee Project
The GEE Project is an opportunity to model civic engagement and sustainable activism to the next generation. And why not use the mandatory 40 hours of community service that is required for an OSSD, as the vehicle. We need to create empathetic, engaged, and informed citizens who will buy into the betterment of their communities and ultimately become voters who get shit done. Let's look beyond academia for young people who may be already intrinsically inclined to engage in progressive movements. Let's show kids that are on a wider spectrum of post-secondary paths what citizenship looks, sounds and feels like. Let's empower them. Introduce them to their voice and agency.
