Hundreds of orange-clad marchers walked through Montreal to mark it and hundreds also took part in a march at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, where flags were flying at half-mast outside city buildings to honour Indigenous children who never returned home from residential schools. Events were held across the country, including here in Windsor-Essex.

But to get a clear picture of the National day, David Pitawanakwat, Indigenous Justice Coordinator at Legal Assistance Windsor, joined us to talk about it.
