Gord was born and raised in Windsor, Ont. and is a graduate of the General Arts and Journalism Print and New Media Programs at St. Clair College.

While attending St. Clair College he completed an internship with The Windsor Star in 2010, The Saint in 2009, was co-editor of The Converged Citizen and competed for the St. Clair College Men's Baseball Team in the CIBA.

After a brief trip to Australia, Gord returned to the area in 2011 to attend the University of Windsor and complete a double major in History and Communications Media and Film.

While at UWindsor Gord worked as an administrator for Women's Basketball Head Coach and CIS Champion Chantal Vallee, was the news editor and a contributing writer for The Lance, and was a member of the university's inaugural Men's Baseball Program.

Gord caught on as a web writer, reporter and producer at CBC Windsor in 2012 and left school during his final year to work as journalist full time.

The lifelong Windsorite has more than a decade of journalistic experience contributing to television, radio, and web platforms.

Gord has been a reporter for AM800 News since 2017, covering community events, crime and municipal politics.
