A proposed cannabis processing facility is set to open in Tecumseh.

'Purefusion Cannabis' is preparing to open a 60,000 square-foot plant on Sylvester Dr. near Manning Rd.

Owner Dan Crosby says the facility will offer extraction, tolling, beverage, nutrition and edible manufacturing for the Canadian cannabis industry.

Crosby says it will take some time but he plans to hire up to 50 people.

"We're going to organically grow our staff but we're looking to probably go 20-plus, maybe 20 to 50 within six months," he says.

Crosby says products will be made at the plant.

"We'll distribute them from here to clients that medicinal cards or we're going to be able to sell to the different provincial outlets and the different provincial stores," says Crosby.

The plan is to get the facility licensed by Health Canada by the end of February.

Crosby also operates Canadian Protein which is based in Windsor.
