LaSalle Closes Recreation Centres Due to COVID-19 Pandemic

LaSalle is shutting down all recreational facilities as a precaution against the spread of COVID-19.

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit says the risk of transmission is very low in the region, but is still recommending social distancing. So the town will close the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex starting Monday until at least April 5.

All Town of LaSalle March Break camps, programs, rentals and activities at the Vollmer Complex are cancelled along with any municipal programs and rentals scheduled at the local schools.

The Riverdance Community Centre will also be closed until at least April 5 and all rentals are cancelled.

Registered day camp participants will be contacted and offered a refund or credit, according to the release.

Services at the LaSalle Civic Centre will continue.

There are still no confirmed cases of the virus in Essex County,
