3-0 victory for the Windsor Spitfires over Guelph
The Windsor Spitfires have added a win under their belt after defeating the Guelph Storm 3-0 Friday evening.
The Spitfires were coming off a 4-1 loss to the Colts in Barrie on Thursday.
In the first period, Windsor was first on the scoreboard with a goal by Oliver Peer, assisted by Cole Davis and Valentin Zhugin. The OHL announced Friday that forward Cole Davis is the Rookie of the Month, recording 12 points, including seven goals and five assists over 13 appearances in November.
A very quiet second period until the last few minutes when Spitfires left-winger Valentin Zhugin scored on a powerplay, pushing Windsor to a 2-0 lead.
In the third, two minor penalties for the period before Peer scored a goal at 19:24 into Guelph's empty net, giving Windsor a 3-0 win.
Windsor had 28 shots on goal for the night, while the Storm put up 25.
The Spitfires will have nearly a week of no games before taking on Barrie again, this time at the WFCU Centre, on Thursday evening.
