Some 30 additional posts were installed at a Windsor federal government building to allow workers to return to the job site.

As AM800 News told you yesterday, 300 federal workers started returning to work, in phases, at 441 University Ave. West after three months at other locations.

The building was evacuated at the end of June as a safety precaution after workers, most of them with the Canada Revenue Agency, complained of vibrations in the building.

According to Public Services and Procurement Canada, the reinforcement began on August 9th and was completed on September 22nd on the second floor.

The work also included reinforcing 54 beams and 13 girders.

The total cost of the work was $1.02-million.

That's in addition to the $11-million to pay for the original renovations to the building last year.

The workers had been working in other locations and at home.
