A Huge Uncommon Hit in Amherstburg
Amherstburg's first Uncommon Festival was a major hit.
Organizers understood that it was a different type of festival but say the response was overwhelming.
Manager of Tourism Culture, Anne Rota says festival-goers were some of the most impressive things to see.
"Families that took the time to dress up, I mean those costumes were a show in itself, truly"
Rota says about 35,000 people visited Amherstburg over the course of the weekend.

"And I would say more than 50% of the people that came, really got into costume and got into the whole character of either Harry Potter of Steampunk," she says.
"It was a weekend full of art, great activities, a lot of interactive activities for the kids and families to come out to and, our big-top shows completely sold out everyday, four shows a day. People loved it."
A report, summarizing the festival will go before council and it is the tourism department's intention to continue the festival next year.
The budget for the festival was $60,000, but a provincial grant and sponsors offset the cost.
