Arrest Made After Crash with Police Cruisers


A Tecumseh woman who was being sought after a crash involving two Windsor Police cruisers has been taken into custody. 

An arrest warrant had been issued for 30-year old Ashley Gelinas. 

On the afternoon of Sunday October 6th, police were called to a rural area off Lauzon Rd. near Lauzon Pkwy. for a report of a stolen vehicle driving on private property. 

Police say the car then burst through some tall grass and struck two cruisers before fleeing the scene. 

As AM800 News told you on Wednesday, the vehicle was recovered on Heatherglen Drive and a male passenger involved in the case was arrested. 

Police now say the female driver was arrested Wednesday on Inglewood Ave. 

Charges against Gelinas include possession of a stolen vehicle over $5,000, assaulting a police officer with a weapon, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
