Back to Class for University of Windsor Students
It's a new year at the University of Windsor.
Acting Associate Vice President of Enrolment Chris Bush says more than 3,000 new students are joining the roughly 12,000 returning to class on Thursday.
He says overall enrolment is up this year.
"For full-time enrolment, we should be exceeding about 15,000 students," says Bush. "It's about 11,000 undergraduates and the remainder are in graduate programs which is an increase of a little bit shy of 4% overall."
Bush adds Windsor has become a destination for international students.
"Globally, Canada has become a great destination for individuals to get a high quality education and Windsor has been seeing great increases in there," says Bush. "We will be having a little bit over 3,500 international students come join us or continue with us here in the fall."
Bush says since 2011, the university has invested nearly $330-million in new buildings to further improve its facilities for students.
