Charges laid against Chatham woman in connection to fatal crash near Ridgetown
A woman is facing charges after a fatal crash that happened near Ridgetown in June.
Around 1 p.m. on June 17, emergency crews were called out to a two vehicle crash on Victoria Road at Gosnell Line.
A woman was travelling on Gosnell Line with a 13-year-old passenger. The vehicle collided with another vehicle travelling northbound on Victoria Road.
The driver of the second vehicle, 60-year-old Barbara Bondy of Chatham, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A 60-year-old passenger in the second vehicle was seriously injured and was transported to London via air ambulance, where she was listed in stable condition.
The woman and the 13-year-old passenger in the first vehicle both received non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, where they received medical attention.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service send their deepest condolences to the family of Barbara Bondy.
A 32-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with careless driving causing death and two counts of careless driving causing bodily harm.
She has been issued a summons to appear in court on Jan. 30, 2024.
