Chatham Teen Charged After Mother Assaulted


A family dispute in Chatham-Kent has led to charges against a 14-year-old boy.

According to Chatham-Kent police, officers responded to a dispute at a home in Chatham.

Police say a teen in the home assaulted his mother, punched a hole in a wall and fled the scene with a knife.

Police say the teen also had conditions not to possess any weapons.

He was located a short distance from the home and was placed under arrest.

A teen is charged with assault, mischief under $5000 and two counts of failing to comply with his conditions.

He remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
