Mike Clevinger and three Indians' relievers combined on a nine-hit 7-0 shutout of the Detroit Tigers in Cleveland.

Franmil Reyes belted a two-run homer, his 35th, while Roberto Perez contributed a two-run single.

Cleveland won its fourth straight and is tied with Tampa Bay for the AL second wild-card slot with a 90-and-63 record. Detroit starter Daniel Norris allowed one run over three innings and was charged with the loss.

Most of the damage was done off Drew VerHagen, who retired only four of the 11 batters he faced and six scored. The Tigers fell to 45-to-107.

In other MLB action on Thursday, the Toronto Blue Jays have swept their way through Baltimore.

Cavan Biggio homered and had three R-B-Is as Toronto used a six-run seventh inning to beat the Orioles 8-4 for a three-game sweep.

Anthony Kay earned his first major league victory by pitching four innings in relief of opener Wilmer Font.
