Crash closes eastbound lanes of Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent
A section of Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent will be closed for several hours after a single vehicle crash involving a transport truck.
Provincial police say the collision happened around 4:35 Thursday morning in the eastbound lanes near the 116-kilometre marker.
According to police, it was a rollover collision and the driver had to be extricated from the vehicle.
Police say the driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Highway 401 eastbound between Orford Road and Victoria Road is closed temporarily as police investigate and for the removal of the vehicle.
Elgin County OPP (Chatham Detachment), along with Chatham-Kent Fire Services, and Emergency Medical Services all attended the scene.
