An Essex man faces charges after reports of suspicious activity in Huron County.

On September 25, Huron County OPP met with two victims who both described “fearful interactions” with a suspicious person.

Over the course of the investigation, police learned the accused approached a teenaged student that was waiting for the school bus and asked the student several times if she wanted to get into his vehicle.

Police say the shaken student declined and immediately reported the matter when she arrived at school.

Shortly after, the accused was involved in another incident when he allegedly caused another victim to fear for their safety after he reportedly followed her in her vehicle to a business in Lucknow. A brief exchange took place and the accused left the area.

Later that day the accused was arrested in Perth County for driving related offences after which he was transferred into the custody of Huron OPP.

While in custody,  the accused threatened to cause harm to one of the investigating officers, as well intentionally causing damage to a holding cell.

Timothy Hebert, 58, from Essex has been charged with two counts of criminal Harassment, two counts of mischief under $5,000 and uttering threats to cause bodily harm.

He is scheduled to appear in court on November 2.
