FCA Canada, Unifor Reach Tentative Agreement
Fiat Chrysler Canada (FCA) and Unifor have reached a tentative agreement for 9,000 workers avoiding a strike at plants in Windsor, Brampton, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Montreal and Red Deer.
No details about the deal are being released just yet, but Unifor national president Jerry Dias will be hosting a news conference Thursday morning at 10am to share more information.
A strike deadline was set for Wednesday at 11:59 p.m., but a deal was reached just moments before.
According to a release from the union, details of the agreement will be presented first to members during virtual ratification meetings over the weekend, and members will vote over a 24-hour period starting Sunday at 10 a.m.
