Flood Watch Issued With Strong Wind and Heavy Rain Expected

A Flood Watch has been issued by the Essex Region Conservation Authority.

Because of the heavy rain in the forecast and expected strong winds,  the watch covers the entire region, including Pelee Island.

The region has received between 10-20 mm of rainfall over the past 24 hour hours and forecasts are predicting that we could
see an additional 40 mm of rain on Thursday.

Due to the high water levels in Lake St. Clair and Lake Erie, there is the potential for flooding.

Flood plains and low lying areas may experience some temporary flooding and ponding as result of these conditions.
