A vote is underway that could see big changes for autoworkers across Essex County.

Ford workers began voting on whether they'll ratify a new deal at 11 a.m. Sunday and the vote will continue into Monday.

The contract serves as a framework for Big Three Automaker deals at Fiat Chrysler, Ford and General Motors.

Unifor called the tentative deal, that would see Ford invest $1.95-billion in secured investment to retool the Oakville Plant to build five models of electric vehicles and bring new product to the Windsor Engine Plant, "historic."

Unifor and FCA, which own Windsor Assembly Plant, are now set to enter negotiations.

The results of the Ford vote likely won't be announced until Monday night.
