Four people arrested following recovery of stolen car

Windsor Police has arrested four individuals following the recovery of a stolen car. 

On Tuesday, shortly before 10 a.m., officers were conducting routine patrol in the parking lot in the 3100 block of Howard Avenue when they spotted a 2014 black Audi matching the description of a car reported stolen three weeks ago. 

Officers reviewed surveillance footage of the area, which showed four suspects drive into the parking lot and exit the vehicle. 

When the suspects returned to the vehicle a short time later, officers quickly arrested three of them. A fourth suspect tried to flee the scene but was arrested following a brief foot chase. 

In addition to recovering the stolen Audi, officers seized a licence plate that had been taken from a second vehicle. 

As a result, a 48-year-old has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and failure to comply with a release order.

A 44-year-old has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

A 36-year-old has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, failure to comply with a release order, and failure to comply with a probation order.

And a 34-year-old has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, failure to comply with a release order, and driving with a suspended licence.
