Impaired Driving and Gun Charges Laid in West-Windsor Crash

A crash in west Windsor has resulted in impaired driving and gun charges.

Windsor Police Service was called Riverside Drive near Elm Street around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday after a man crashed his SUV into a concrete pole. Officers arrived to find the man unconscious with a live utility cable draped over the vehicle.

Police say a loaded handgun and drug paraphernalia were found in plain sight after emergency services pulled the man from the wreck. Police later learned the loaded firearm was reported stolen in the U.S.

Investigators also determined the man was under the influence of drugs and placed him under arrest.

A 44-year-old man from Windsor is charged with impaired driving by drug and numerous firearm related charges.
