Kingsville to Close Recreation Facilities Due to COVID-19

Kingsville has decided to close its recreation facilities and limit town business in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The town announced all recreational programs, ice rentals and private events will be cancelled at end of the day Sunday until April 5.

Any weddings booked at town facilities will be permitted, but attendance will be limited to a maximum of 250 people to maintain social distance.

According to the release, legislated meetings will continue and all non-essential committee meetings will be postponed.

Town hall and the Kingsville Arena lobby will remain open, but officials are asking residents to use resources by phone or on the town's website when possible.

Kingsville fire will not be accepting permit applications in person; residents are being asked to apply online until further notice.

The town's early dog tag registration fee deadline has been extended to April 30 as a courtesy.

Administration is currently reviewing capacity in council chambers to maintain social distancing recommendations, but the town is encouraging residents to stream meetings online instead.
