Local Lifter Cleans Up at World Games
Luke Tremblay competed at the 2019 Commonwealth world games, in St. John's Newfoundland and won several catergories including the overall gold medal.
Tremblay performed the Squat, Bench press, and Deadlift, and received the gold medal for all three events, along with the gold medal overall.
He was also awarded the Best Lifter trophy for all of the junior competitors, based on the IPF Points system (pound for pound formula).
Tremblay's best lifts were: 320kg, 705lbs squat (provincial record); 200kg, 441lbs bench press; and 325kg/717lbs deadlift -- giving me an 845kg/1862lbs total (provincial + national record).
Two other local athletes Jerry Marentette and Ron Strong, also received gold in their divisions.
