An employee at the McDonalds's location on Dougall Avenue in Windsor has tested positive for COVID-19.

The restaurant chain says the worker reported the positive test on Tuesday.

In a release, McDonald's Canada says the restaurant was shut down immediately for a thorough cleaning and sanitization by a certified third party.

According to the release, the restaurant is working on a timeline to reopen as quickly and safely as possible.

The worker last worked on August 23 from 5pm until 8pm.

McDonald's Canada says staff members who may have been in close contact with the employee have been asked to self-isolate for the time being.
