Postcard Campaign Launched in Support of Mega Hospital Location

A grassroots group has officially launched its postcard campaign in support of the location of the proposed mega hospital.

The group "42 Forward Our New Hospital' believes the process to pick the site at County Rd 42 and the 9th Concession was fair and transparent and it is time to send a message to the province that the majority of people endorse the location.

"We also believe the silent majority is very big but they need to be vocal so that's what we are allowing them to do," says group co-chair Brian Stocks.

About 3,000 postcards have been printed and will be available at a rally on October 3rd.

Businesses that want postcards can also contact the group via email at or on Facebook.

An online petition is also available at which has seen close to 1,000 signatures in a week.

The postcards were paid for by members of the group and businesses volunteered their services.

Stocks says his biggest fear is that the project goes nowhere.

"That we are going to miss out on the hospital," he says. "There has been so much negative information out there, a lot of misinformation and that's what motivated us to get going, we thought someone has got to speak up."

A rally is scheduled for Thursday, October 3 at 6pm at the Signature Tribute Event Centre at 3310 Dougall.

CAMPP is appealed the city's decision to re-zone the land saying it will encourage urban sprawl and it wants a hospital closer to the city core.

The hearing before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal is scheduled for October 8th to the 10th at Windsor City Hall.
