Detroit Lions center Frank Ragnow returned to the practice field Tuesday.

It was the first time Ragnow took part in drills since he injured his leg in Detroit's preseason loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Linebacker Jarrad Davis, defensive lineman Da'Shawn Hand and cornerback Rashaan Melvin did not practice.

The Lions open the season on the road against the Arizona Cardinals Sunday.

The Lions have signed free agent linebacker Jason Cabinda to the practice squad.  Cabinda entered the NFL with the Oakland Raiders in 2018 as an undrafted rookie out of Penn State.

He had 21 tackles and one quarterback hit in 10 games with the Raiders last season.  To make room on the roster Detroit released tight end Austin Traylor from the practice squad.
