The dates have changed for the planned shutdown at the Windsor Assembly Plant.

Unifor Local 444 President Dave Cassidy says the union was notified by the FCA Canada on Tuesday that the shutdown will now take place from February 18th to February 22nd instead of February 25th to March 1st.

He says he's not sure the reason why but has notified his members and feeder plants.

"It's what happens in our business, things change at the drop of a hat, that's why the company just notified us that there's a change from the 25th to the 18th," says Cassidy.

Cassidy says he has heard from his members.

"Sometimes obviously there's frustrations with members but the facts of the matter are, they run the company and they're the ones who notify us as to the reasoning for the changes," says Cassidy.

The shutdown will impact about 6000 people at the minivan plant and around 1000 more at feeder plants.
