SIU Investigates Crash Between Windsor Police Cruiser and Scooter


The province's police watchdog is investigating a collision between a Windsor police cruiser and a mobility scooter that sent a elderly man to hospital with serious injuries.

The Special Investigations Unit says around 9:30 a.m. on September 2nd, Windsor police were southbound on McDougall St. and turned left onto Wyandotte St.

The cruiser collided with a man crossing the street in a mobility scooter.

The victim, an 87-year old man, was taken to the hospital with a serious injury.

Three investigators, two forensic investigators and one collision reconstructionist have been assigned to the incident.
